Comments of participants of the International Doll Salon
in Moscow:

Tine Kamerbeek, an artist, the member of NIADA (Holland):

– I International Doll Salon in Moscow had a great success! The level of the presented doll art was very high there! Wonderful appearance and organization of the Salon, the interest of Russian collectors to my art, warm and friendly welcome, the ability for artists to connect with each other – all these things are very important and they took place at the Salon. It is a great honor for me to show my dolls at the Salon, and I will take part at the next Doll Salon in Moscow!

Alexandra Koukinova, the owner and the chief artist of the Gallery "Alexandra":

– I am very glad that the 1st International Doll Salon took place. It was a bright and a large-scaled event in the "chamber" of Moscow doll life. During all three working days of the Salon, the exhibition hall was overcrowded. I heard people calling their friends, persuading them to give up whatever they were doing at the moment and to visit the Salon. Many people came to the exhibition several times – it was impossible to study all exhibits during one visit. I am sure that the 2nd Salon will be even more interesting, and I wish the organizers good luck!

Sasha Khudyakova, President of the Doll Artists Association, attached to the Moscow Artists Union:

- Salon demonstrated how large the process, taking place at the Russian doll market, is. Salon attracted an extraordinary number of professionals and amateurs as well as people who came upon the doll art for the first time. In general, an event of such scale shows that the attitude towards the doll making in Russia becomes more serious.

Karina Shanshieva, Director of Gallery:

- Such Salon is a necessary, useful and long-awaited event in Russia. I am glad that I've discovered new authors here. It is interesting that this exhibition is so large. Obviously, the Salon's organizers have made a lot - it is always nice when heart and soul are put into such performance. I think that this Doll Salon has the future!

Irina Myzina, the director of Vakhtanov Doll Gallery:

- Vakhtanov Gallery was presented at the Salon by the project "Visitors in the country of Lilliputians" - remarkable life-size dolls by artist Irina Zakharova, made in one-of-a-kind. Dolls are made from the grounded textile. Such level of work was made for the first time in Russia. Moreover, dolls-photos of the best artists of Gallery have been presented at exposition: Dima ÏÆ, Olga Egupets, Alla Beljaeva, Galina Saksonova, Natalia Pobedina. I still have good impressions about the general level of dolls of the Salon. Artists from other cities of Russia have shown worthy works. The International Doll Salon in Moscow is rather dimensioned event. Not all artists have understood the concept and a format of the Salon, but people have looked and have seen, have drawn conclusions for next year. I wish organizers and artists success!
